Responsibilities

The Enterprise Portfolio Program Manager will be responsible for leading assigned strategic initiatives that are critical for the company to achieve its business objectives.

  • Provide leadership, coordination and oversight across a variety of integrated programs to manage issues, dependencies and risks.

  • Facilitate the resolution of complex, cross-functional issues utilizing a fact-based, consultative and disciplined approach.

  • Be a trusted advisor to internal leaders by seeing the big picture and translating business strategies into successfully executed program initiatives.

  • Foster an environment of trust, collaboration and knowledge sharing within the program and demonstrate the ability to partner in a matrixed organization to drive transformational change and resolve complex business challenges.

  • Own change management and successful communication strategies. Incorporate and execute as part of the overall program structure and integrated with other strategic programs when appropriate.

  • Operate with considerable latitude while cross-functionally engaging project teams and stakeholders to advance corporate strategic initiatives.

  • Provide value-added expertise in developing new concepts, techniques, and standards across multiple business units and initiatives. Make recommendations and develop solutions for stakeholders on program management and planning to ensure high quality execution and delivery of expected results.

  • Position requires strong judgment, problem solving and influencing, communication, facilitation and negotiating skills. Ability to influence without direct authority, managing well within ‘grey’ to help the company figure out the best path forward.

  • Operate cross-functionally at all levels within the organization. Candidate functions in a lead role by providing project planning, alignment, execution, governance, and guidance to colleagues/clients in area(s) of expertise

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Program execution and the ability to translate strategy into action. Coordinate with key internal and external partners, ensuring all parties are appropriately informed, engaged and driving desired results

  • Align with executive sponsor and ensure Program vision and goals tie back to strategic priorities.

  • Develop and lead the governance structure appropriate for the assigned program or strategic initiative.

  • Work effectively throughout all levels of the organization, frequently interfacing with Senior Management on Program level status, risk, and issues.

  • Lead Sr. Management (VPs and above) through high level prioritization and Governance Process

  • Manage the interdependency between the projects in the program and communicating the overall vision and the roadmap that supports the vision.

  • Monitor progress of multiple projects across business units and initiatives. Provide analytical support in synthesizing and reporting results

  • Run all aspects of complex programs and projects utilizing PMP framework.

  • Oversee and direct the execution teams to include expert conflict management across groups.

  • Develop RFP (Requests for Proposals) for external services.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning for program risk and developing strategies for dealing with potential risks as well as mitigating them.

  • Reviewing the status reports of team members across projects and addressing issues as appropriate.

  • Recognizing areas for internal improvement and developing plans for implementing them.

  • Defining resource needs and the schedule for implementation of the program plan

Qualifications

Competency Requirements:

  • A good understanding of project management methodology; particularly the Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), upon which the IT PMO Delivery Framework is based.

  • Strong communication, facilitation skills and the ability to motivate and provide a vision to project teams.

  • Strong organization, presentation, emotional intelligence, ability to navigate through undefined challenges and a strong customer focus.

  • Experience with driving large change events and developing and executing change management strategies.

  • Well rounded balance of skills between technical and soft skills

Desired Competencies:

  • Proficient in financial management and budgeting, as well as procurement and contract negotiations across the program

  • Knowledge in establishing and executing the governance framework for both the constituent projects and the program itself. This includes the ability to allocate and optimize resources across all of the constituent projects, as well as any additional work that is required

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years of project/program management experience with experience successfully managing large, complex programs

  • Significant experience in change management within large or global organizations

  • Experience with virtual, remote, and distributed teams a must.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification preferred, but not required.

  • Lean Six Sigma certifications (green belt or black belt), a plus
