Iron Mountain (Senior) Manager, International Tax in Boston, Massachusetts

The [Senior] Manager, International Tax, will report to the Director, Tax Planning and Operations and will be located at Iron Mountain’s corporate headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. The successful candidate will possess strong overall tax technical skills and expertise, will have an established background in U.S. international tax planning and transactional support, and will be able to thrive in a complex, fast-paced multi-national organization. This position will have responsibility for assisting with all aspects of the Company’s income tax planning efforts with an emphasis on the U.S. international tax consequences associated with the company’s strategic initiatives and ongoing business operations. These include mergers and acquisitions, transaction and operational support, real estate investment trust (REIT) planning and qualification matters, federal and state audit support, and other special projects and administrative responsibilities.

Strong skills and experience level with outbound US international tax planning and structuring, including Subpart F, GILTI, intellectual property and royalties, offshore financing structures, and repatriation techniques

Requirements:

•Must have proven experience in REIT taxation and the issues and considerations confronted by global non-traditional REITs (or be willing to learn and fully embrace)

•Working knowledge of ASC 740 and FIN 48 skills and experiences

•Balanced approach and experience with tax planning, compliance, and reporting

•Detail oriented with excellent organizational and follow up skills

•Demonstrated ability to identify, communicate, and manage international and domestic tax issues, including REIT implications

•Ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters to non-tax professionals

•Excellent accounting and analytical skills and abilities including a fundamental understanding of US GAAP accounting and consolidated financial statements for large multinational companies

•Proactive, tenacious, resilient, self motivated, hands-on, with an intellectual curiosity and bias for action; willing to embrace change, seek out business partners, understand value propositions, and develop creative ideas to improve the company’s tax position and support operational initiatives.
