We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager to join us with the remit of Europe and MENAT. In this role you will work closely with and report to the Senior Tax Manager Europe with a primary purpose of ensuring the European & MENAT Region is compliant with its tax and reporting obligations and improve the tax efficiency of Iron Mountain throughout the region.
Key Accountabilities
Tax Compliance:
Monitor and manage tax return submission process with assistance from global service provider
Support the financial statement preparation where necessary and tax provision workings under local GAAP with assistance from global service provider
Support country Finance Managers with relevant tax information during tax authority audits
Calculation and forecasting of estimated tax payments and review tax payable reconciliation
Liaise with relevant tax authorities as necessary
Get involved in Local tax and WHT issues
Assist in preparation of Local TP files (where required) and review of intercompany agreements
Business partnering:
- Collaborate with business and finance leaders, legal and external advisers on various business and tax matters
Tax Reporting & Control:
Support tax provision reporting and accounting on a quarterly and annual basis for US GAAP and Local GAAP reporting
Assist tax forecasting on a quarterly basis for US GAAP reporting
Maintain a robust control environment for SOX.
Support the provision to return “true up” and necessary accounting entries under US GAAP and Local GAAP
Tax Planning and M&A:
Monitor existing and proposed tax legislation and assist in defining and implementing appropriate tax planning strategies
Assist in analysis and recommendation on regional funding decisions and new legal entity ownership structures
Assist in the determination of tax consequences related to international mergers, acquisitions and reorganization
What you will bring
University degree
Accountancy qualification (CPA, CA or similar)
Substantial post qualified corporate tax experience
Working knowledge of European and ideally MENAT tax jurisdictions
Conversant with US GAAP or IFRS
Strong tax technical background
Strong numeracy, analytical, IT & excel skills
Proactive, energetic and motivated
Excellent communication skills
Able to use own initiative and deliver under tight timeframe
Ability to work as part of a cross functional/regional/global team
Desirable:
Qualified tax advisor
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud, Onesteam,and GL Wand
Commercial tax experience
