Iron Mountain Government Pricing Analyst in Reston, Virginia

Iron Mountain is seeking a Pricing Analyst to join the Iron Mountain Government Solutions team. This position will be responsible for supporting the organization as they win new business and get the best outcome on renewals and business opportunities, utilizing data to identify the most appropriate pricing strategy, deal structuring and price-to-win. The individual will provide analytical support for customer-facing teams – including the building of pricing models using customer financial and operational information from our business systems, then preparing price-to-win analyses and strategies based on this information. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop internal financial models and prepare cost/price volumes in response to federal solicitations, contract modifications, and requests for equitable adjustments in compliance with solicitation instructions and FAR requirements

  • Identify the underlying costs associated with an offering, and drive the financial modeling efforts to determine the costing, pricing, capital financing and overall profitability

  • Assess inputs and documents from proposal team members and advise for financial sufficiency

  • Assist the proposal team with management approvals on financial aspects of deals

  • Develop pricing approaches that show Iron Mountain’s value to the customer

  • Provide regular updates on deal performance, converting data into actionable recommendations and identifying emerging trends and opportunities

  • Perform account-based analyses on competitive cost, price trends, and historical bid price points for specific proposals or subaccounts

  • Analyze competitive price actions and strategies to determine future Iron Mountain pricing strategies

  • Provide financial support for shaping, structuring, and closing of government pricing actions; including working proactively with clients and Iron Mountain management to create compelling business cases

  • Determining the best combination of price and services, tools and techniques to allow the field to execute our pricing initiative

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Contracts, Subcontracts, Program Business Support, Compliance, or HR on specific proposals and portfolio processes

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to draw conclusions and provide specific recommendations; ability to work with ambiguous data and identify trends and opportunities

  • Effective interaction with multiple teams throughout Iron Mountain (government team, product teams, solution architects, sales) and at all levels (Account Managers to Executive Vice President)

  • Experience with developing or delivering price strategy presentations or analyses to executives and key decision-makers

  • Ability to transform process and tools to simplify the user experience while driving revenue growth and profitability

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team and adapt to a fast-paced deadline driven environment

  • Advanced proficiency with business software including mastery of analysis tools, especially Excel including VBA, financial modeling and G Suite

  • Solid organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage projects with changing deadlines

  • Comfort working across multiple functions, including Sales and Finance

  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and be a strong team player who fosters collaboration


  • 3+ years of experience with pricing various contract types

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and various contracts types (Cost, T&M, and Fixed Price)

  • Familiarity with the General Services Administration (GSA) schedules program

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management, BPO, Workflow, and ERP solutions

  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting federal government solicitation documents (RFP, RFQ, SOW, etc.)

  • Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Contracts
